Yacht Registration - Jersey

Jersey is a category 2 Red Ensign flag and is suited to yachts up to 400 GT.  The principal port of registry is Jersey.

The UK is one of the world’s leading maritime locations and has 116 UK ports of registry.  This enables owners to secure their preferred yacht name.    The UK  register is regulated by the United Kingdom’s Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA)

The British Virgin Islands is a non EU jurisdiction for VAT and crew employment and is frequently chosen by owners wishing to benefit from temporary admission when visiting EU waters.  The Ports of Registry are: Road Town, White Bay and Gorda Sound.

The Cayman Islands is a non EU jurisdiction for VAT and crew employment and is frequently chosen by owners wishing to benefit from temporary admission when visiting EU waters.  The Ports of Registry are:George Town, The Creek and Bloody Bay.

The Isle of Man is a category 1 Red Ensign flag and is one of the most popular flags for both commercial and pleasure yacht registrations.  The Ports of registry are: Douglas, Peel, Castletown and Ramsey

The Guernsey registry is also part of the Red Ensign group is open to pleasure yachts up to 150 GT.  The principal port of registry is Guernsey.

Malta is the 6th largest ship registry in the world and is one of the most popular EU flags for yacht registration with circa 800 yachts registered.  Yachts of any size may register for pleasure use and yachts of 15 metres or more can register for commercial use.  The sole port of registry is Valletta.
